Regionals

This weekend is regionals!  Wish our women’s team luck (and our men’s team, but they’re not nearly as important).  We are seeded 6th, and our main goal is to move up to 2nd.  That way we’ll go to Nationals!  That’s it for now, I’ll update on how the tourney went next week!

Hat Tourney In Stillwater, OK

Okay all, coming up Sept 30 (the weekend of club regionals; so I won’t be there) Brews and Bruises will be held in Stillwater, OK.  It is another hat tourney, and once again a wonderful experience for new players, plus, as stated in the name, the fun won’t be ALL frisbee.  The link below holds more information about the tourney.  The team is arranging carpools, so either post here or to the group (yahoo.com, search for UTD Ultimate in the groups) and I’m sure we can get you all up there.

Sectionals

This past weekend I went to Austin for Sectionals with the womens’ team; Ovaryaction (say it fast, you’ll get it).  We one two out of three games, losing only to the elite women’s team Showdown.  We were the only ones that scored on them though, so kudos to us.  It was an excellent weekend and everyone played really well.  And, because there are only four teams in our sections, in two weeks we are headed to Little Rock for regionals.  It should be an excellent tournament and I’m really looking forward to it.  Here’s hoping we get to regionals!

Hat Tourney Results

Well, this past weekend, the Hat Tourney in A&M was a success. We only had one member of the team go (the rest were rather busy), but he said he had a blast. He was stoked for his first tournament and I was really proud to have representation at the first tourney of the season. Hopefully I’ll get him on here to relate the experience of his first tournament. As an aside, I am going to Austin this weekend for Sectionals with the Dallas Women’s team. I was really honored to get chosen to play, and I know it’ll be a great tournament. I’ll update everyone on how it went when I get home from Austin (and get some sleep as I’m sure I won’t this weekend).

Hat Tourney

Hey guys.  Here’s the info on the hat tourney if you plan on going this weekend.  I would recommend getting a carpool going if you do attend.

Tournament: Texas A&M Hat (open to both men and women)

Date: September 10, 2006

Location: Penberthy Sport Club Fields (http://transport.tamu.edu/specialevents/maps/RV.pdf)  Park at Penberthy RV Park.

Format: Hat tournament

Schedule: Registration for the tournament is between 8:45 and 9:30 am.  Teams will be announced at 10 am, and first games will begin at 10:30.  Goal is to be done by 4:30 pm.

Cost: $10.00 a player

I’m not going, but I’ve already emailed the captain to expect a few of us.  Let me know if you have any questions.
